About Elise

Chef/Owner Elise Black most recently opened the kitchen at Pearl’s On The Corner right here in Fishtown. Other projects in 2024 included General Manager at The Lucky Well Incubator for their first season, thens running Hatch Cover, a family seafood concept, at The Incubator for their 2nd and final season. 

Working in Philadelphia since 2018, her resume includes positions at Fork, Royal Boucherie, Fiorella, and opening the kitchen at Post Haste. Cooking professionally since 2012, she began as a private chef on the Main Line before running her meal prep and catering business, Fueled By Elise, for 3+ years. She attended Rowan University for Communication Studies, but has always worked different positions in restaurants. 

Food from Elise offers a variety of influences and cuisines, but can generally be described as local, coastal, and uniquely European influenced. The goal is to continue cooking with seasonal and local produce and Mid-Atlantic seafood as much as possible, while also offering comfortable meals to be enjoyed on any average night at home.

The Hatch Cover pop-ups will always be more casual and mostly seafood focused depending on the bar/location. Ticketed dinner parties will  be more upscale and usually plated dinners.The 2025 intention is to offer a diverse portfolio that leans on prior experiences with no limitations!
